When K2LD Architects began designing Golden Square Primary School - the merger of two schools currently separated by Calder Highway in Victoria - the architects handed the drawing board over to the school's own students.
Early concepts of the new premises on Maple Street Bendigo included notions of space ships, floating desks and lickable wallpaper.
In the end, however, the children collectively decided that the new school should take its inspiration from a treehouse.
