[tweet_dis]Developer Oceania Construction Group plans to add its mark to the Melbourne skyline[/tweet_dis], after lodging plans for a new apartment tower in Melbourne's CBD.
The developer has filed a planning application for a 329-apartment tower at 48-50 A'Beckett Street, a centrally located site between Elizabeth and Swanston streets. The property is also less than 100 metres away from RMIT.
The apartment tower will be 198 metres long and will include ground floor retail and eight car parks.
According to The Australian, the apartment tower will be 59 levels.
Oceania Construction Group purchased the 724sqm site for $9.2 million in 2012. The site's former owners had previously applied for a 39-level tower, rising 121 metres, in 2011; and a 45-level tower in November 2010.
The property currently houses the office of construction group Probuild.
