Miller Street Partners, successfully gained council approval last December to develop an 251-room international hotel and carpark near Sydney airport, in an area defined by Baxter and O’Riordan streets.

According to The Australian, the Miller Street Partners’ website publicised that in the last five years hotel supply in the aerodrome precinct, Mascot was at a low with hotel occupancies in the past achieving more than 80 per cent.

The Miller Street Partners website also showed the revenue sharing agreement the company has with French hotel Accor, which also runs the Ibis Styles brand.

The property company plans to provide a gymnasium, bars, a restaurant and small ground-floor car park for the “park and fly” - a commercial car park that allows hotel guests to utilise hotel car parks and airport transfer facilities.

The Sydney airport precinct is highly valued by property developers, investors and owners for its high hotel occupancies, with the Rydes Hotel opening in 2013.
