Melbourne Luxury Pad's Entry Into Market Well Into Millions

Screen-Shot-2016-11-01-at-3

The 86th floor Eureka Penthouse, one of Melbourne’s most expensive apartments, was listed on the market earlier this week, according to the Herald Sun, with a staggering price guide of $22 million.

Set in what is known to be the tallest residence in the southern hemisphere, the 660 square metre property sits almost 300 metres above Southbank at 8601 Riverside Quay, with full 360 degree views of the city and beyond. The views can provide a front-row seat, from the couch, to landmarks including the Yarra River, Flinders St Station, Royal Botanic Gardens and Flemington Racecourse.

The dwelling's interior has been designed to emanate luxury, with high-end inclusions resembling a New York-style Art Deco.

The owners have reportedly spent $9 million over two years on a detailed refurbishment which involved the importation of the carved ceilings, the addition of leather-padded walls, brass door inlays, silk carpets, French oak flooring, Italian marble and a gas fireplace.

The apartment includes four bedrooms, one of which contains an east-facing master suite with his and hers walk-in robes, a private retreat area and ensuite with spa and dual showers. Across the entire floor plan there is a main living and dining zone, a library, home theatre, kitchen with butler’s pantry, lobby and barbecue and entertaining area.

RT Edgar and Sotheby’s International Realty are selling the property through a joint campaign, with prospective buyers able to respond to an expression of interest before Tuesday, December 6.

RT Edgar Associate Director Tim Wilson said to realestate.com.au that the penthouse represents “good value”, and that it would have a much higher price tag if it were for sale in another international city.

“It is probably something you won’t see on the market for many, many years to come. It’s really a one-off opportunity,” he said.
