Function should be a priority when choosing your dream fixtures and fittings, according to leading architecture firm Conrad Gargett.

Director John Flynn said form was very important when selecting the interior design for your home, but products that were low-maintenance and had longevity should not be overlooked.

He said kitchen fixtures and fittings that were "tough and durable" were especially important in the rental market.
