The developer behind the latest addition to Adelaide’s skyline is moving ahead with its next SA project, a dual-tower scheme also in the CBD.
Auta Group has marked the topping out of the $200-million Victoria Tower, a 38-storey highrise on the former La Boheme nightspot site at 32-38 Grote Street.
It is now Adelaide’s fourth-tallest building.
The project, built by Synergy Construct, comprises 289 residential apartments of studio, one, two, and three-bedroom options, as well as penthouses on the top two levels.
The tower includes eight floors of commercial space.
Auta Group managing director James Guo said more than 90 per cent of the 289 apartments had sold “because world-class inner-city living is becoming increasingly attractive to the market and is now realisable in Adelaide”.
Next up for Auta Group is its two-tower development on the former Publishers Hotel site at 108 Franklin Street.
That project’s 17-level international hotel of 246 keys will introduce a new and as-yet-unnamed global hotel brand to Adelaide, sharing the site with a 21-level residential building of 175 apartments.
The Franklin Street development, which received planning approval in November, will also include retail spaces and offices within a shared podium structure on the 2112sq m site.
The project would feature “Japandi” interior style blending Japanese and Scandinavian aesthetics, the developers said.
The hotel will primarily cater to business travellers and amenities will include a bar, swimming pool, restaurants and gym.
Project director Jim Apostolou said the development “together with the adjacent development, Tapangka On Franklin, will help transform the skyline in this part of the city”.
Victoria Tower Adelaide is scheduled for completion in spring. The Franklin Street apartments are expected to launch this year.
