Aged Care to High-End Homes Approved for Lane Cove

Rebel Property Group and Braxton Capital have won approval for 10 terrace homes to be built on a former Uniting Church site in Sydney’sLane Cove.

The Popov Bass-designed project will replace a disused aged care facility on the 2400sq m site at 7-9 Lynvale Close.

The 10 three-storey terrace homes will overlook the Helen Street Reserve and boast individual rooftop terraces.

The developers filed amended plans in June this year to the Lane Cove Council, which were approved last week.

The Sydney-based developers acquired the site near Chatswood last year from the Uniting Church. The church had owned the site for more than 50 years.

Braxton Capital owner Andrew Donnelly said they had been drawn to the site due to its location.

“The proposed scheme will be the first collection of houses by Rebel Property Group and Braxton, and has been developed in response to the increased demand for luxury homes in Sydney’s Lower North Shore,” Donnelly said.

Each residence will have views of the Helen Street Reserve and will contain up to three separate living areas, three bedrooms, gardens and double lock up basement parking and storage, and private lifts.

Rebel Property Group managing director Allen Linz said the project would address a need for housing in the Lane Cove area.

“We’ve worked closely with the council to achieve an outcome that improves the streetscape and provides for much needed accommodation within the area,” Linz said.

▲ Approval has been granted for the first stage concept of a 230-apartment project at 166-194 William Street, Woolloomooloo.

The development is targeting affluent owner-occupiers. The apartments include private master retreats and a third living area that is adaptable as a gym or studio, cinema room or kids’ rumpus room.

Construction is slated for mid-2024.

Rebel Property Group and Braxton Capital have a focus on high-end residential apartment projects and commercial developments in Sydney.

At Marrickville, the pair has teamed with Toga Group to start construction on an $80-million multi-level industrial complex, while planning for a $100-million residential project is under way in the same suburb.

Meanwhile, Rebel Property Group has won stage 1 concept approval for its proposed precinct development at 166-194 William Street at Woolloomooloo, which it is developing in a joint venture with Phoenix Property Investors and HSN Construction.

The $160-million, 230-apartment project, designed by fjcstudio, would replace three existing medium-rise commercial buildings, including a truck rental business, the British American Tobacco building and a single-level car park as well as an outdoor car park.
