A development application has been lodged with the City of Parramatta for three residential buildings in Sydney’s Lidcombe.
The $114 million application for the 2 Hill Road site, lodged last month, sits at the entrance to Sydney Olympic Park and proposes the construction of three residential buildings with five levels of basement parking and a total 302 dwellings.
The area was formerly industrial, with rezoning for Lidcombe’s Carter Street Precinct finalised in late 2015.
New South Wales government’s plans show the transforming industrial region in the Greater Parramatta to Olympic Park Area will be renewed into a vibrant residential community, which is designated to accommodate significant jobs and housing growth.
As part of its delivery program, state government arranged a voluntary planning agreement for developers to contribute $55 million to the construction of road upgrades.
The Hill Road development proposal, designed by architecture firm Integrated Design Group, lies north of the M4, west of Hill Road and south of the Haslams Creek, with proximity to Lidcombe shopping centre.
The three buildings, rising 17-, 15- and six-storeys, offer a total gross floor area of about 30,000 square metres.
The proposed development comprises 126 one-bedroom units, 160 two-bedroom units and 16 three-bedroom units.
