Arcadis Awarded Engineering Technical Role on Sydney’s Central Precinct

d8f9d003-f490-4470-95e4-99d150bbfe6b

Transport NSW has appointed design and consultancy organisation Arcadis on Sydney's 24-hectare Sydney Central Precinct renewal to provide engineering design solutions.

The Central Precinct Renewal is a major urban renewal program in one of Sydney’s most connected sites.

The renewal program expands Sydney's southern CBD, developing a revitalised transport interchange and building on the existing rail, bus, coach and light rail connections, the new CBD and South East Light Rail and Sydney Metro.

Links across the rail corridor and new public spaces will provide important connections between business, education, health and cultural institutions, fostering collaboration and innovation.

Critical employment space will also be created for the jobs of the future, anchoring the proposed Sydney Innovation and Technology Precinct.

Transport for NSW has assembled a world-class team with depth of knowledge, experience and expertise required to partner with them and deliver on this vision and transform Central Precinct into an iconic global precinct.

“Arcadis was able to bring relevant experience and expertise from projects around the world through key individuals from those projects that will be working on Central Precinct,” Central Precinct Renewal Program senior project manager Lindsay Baker said.

Arcadis’ collaborative approach in the delivery of recent Sydney Metro projects, such as the underground station design and technical services package on City and Southwest, will be key to successfully delivering the optioneering and technical advisory services required for Central Precinct Renewal.

Arcadis will be supported by Thornton Tomasetti, who have previously provided engineering and construction services for the rail deck and over-station structures for Hudson Yards in New York, as well as Indec who have extensive knowledge of rail operations within the Sydney area.
