Work has commenced on the new Skygate Home & Life centre at the Brisbane Airport.
Located adjacent to the existing DFO, the 9,260 square metre large format retail centre has attracted pre-commitments from tenants including Nick Scali, Pillow Talk, James Lane and Lighting Illusions.
Scheduled for completion in September 2018, Skygate Home & Life is being developed by Brisbane Airport Corporation’s property division, BNE Property.

John Tormey said the new centre is a reflection of the airport’s growth as a vibrant retail, dining and leisure hub.
“We are very pleased to welcome such high-quality, renowned brands to the Brisbane Airport community,” Tormey said.
“The precinct continues to gain momentum as a vibrant commercial and lifestyle destination, with a growing number of businesses choosing to base their operations out of the airport precinct due to its excellent amenity and connectivity.
“Skygate Home & Life will further strengthen this amenity for residents, visitors and workers.”

CBRE’s Damian Crocetti and Andrew Brimson have been exclusively appointed to lease the centre.
“Skygate Home & Life creates an exciting opportunity for retailers looking to expand their footprint in Queensland within one of the region’s fastest growing lifestyle precincts,” Crocetti said.
“The project is currently sitting at approximately 55 per cent committed, with the balance -- 4,140 square metres -- currently under consideration.”
The Skygate Home & Life centre benefits from exposure to more than 100,000 vehicles per day, a commercial precinct of 460 businesses and 23,000 workers, and a catchment population of more than one million within a 30 minute drive.
BNE Property recently completed a $35 million redevelopment of Skygate including an expansion to DFO with 30 new stores, multi-deck car parking for 1,000 vehicles, five new alfresco dining restaurants, public artwork and children’s playscape, commercial offices and enhanced pedestrian connectivity.
The precinct is now home to more than 160 retail, café and dining options including DFO, Queensland’s first 24-hour Woolworths, Golf Central BNE, Dan Murphy’s, a 4.5 star hotel, medical centre, gym, childcare and more.
