Brisbane City Council has approved Seymour Group’s request for an extension to submit design changes for its New Farm residential project.
The Kevin Seymour-owned company filed plans for the project on the 872sq m site at 37B-39 Griffith Street in March.
The planned six-storey, five-apartment building will be beside the Brisbane River and close to projects Seymour Group has on Oxlade Street.
The building comprises three-bedroom units on the ground to third floors and a penthouse on the fourth and fifth floors.
The Bureau Proberts-designed project will also have a pool, recreation deck and basement carpark with 12 spaces for residents and one visitor car space.
Seymour’s ALS Nominees bought the property in May, 2019 for $7.75 million from Glenice Mein and Allan Mein in a sale brokered by Ray White New Farm.
In April, the Brisbane City Council wrote to the Seymour Group asking for significant design changes and further information.
These included concerns around setbacks, building heights, tidal works, the building form and articulation, landscaping, carparking and utilities.
The project has a setback from the river of 11m—the required setback is 20m, while it also exceeds the height limit of 15m by 5.4m.
Seymour Group then requested an extension from the original July 4 deadline to August 4 to provide the changes and information, which was granted.
