Momentum is growing for the $2.9 billion Brisbane Showgrounds’ regeneration, with the first residential development,
The Green, now sold out and Development Approval secured for the second residential offer, The Yards.
The Green's five towers have completely sold out of their 356 one and two bedroom apartments, and are due to be completed in 2015.
Lend Lease's Chief Executive Officer of property in Austalia, Tarun Gupata said that the Brisbane Showgrounds perfect blend of “tradition and innovation” has seen “significant demand for commercial and residential opportunities across the site”.
“The sell-out of The Green and the ahead-of-schedule release of our newest residential offering, The Yards, confirm Brisbane city's northern edge as one of Australia's high-demand opportunities,” Mr Gupata said.
The Yards was designed by award-winning architects,
Hayball, and consists of 401 apartments across two towers and 11 terraces.
Mr Gupata believes that King Street and the rejuvenation of the showgrounds precinct will act as a catalyst for other investment in the area, with great outcomes for Brisbane.
“The Yards on King Street will deliver a vibrant mix of uses to this part of the city and expresses our uncompromising commitment to creating the best places,” Mr Gupata said.
The Yards is set to be released in September.
