Brookfield Multiplex Completes $228 Million Stockland Shopping Centre

Brookfield Multiplex, a leading global contractor, has completed the $228 million Stockland Wetherill Park Shopping Centre redevelopment and expansion project.

Located at 561-583 Polding St, Wetherill Park, Stockland Wetherill Park Shopping Centre presents the third retail redevelopment Brookfield Multiplex has delivered for Stockland, with the fourth project at Green Hills set to commence in January 2016.

The shopping centre was completed three months ahead of schedule.

The redeveloped centre provides an additional 17,000 square metres of new retail space, a total of 2,700 car spaces, 200 specialty tenancies comprising 175 in-line shops, 25 kiosk sites and eight pad sites. It also features two full-line supermarkets, two full-line discount department stores, ten Mini Majors and a separate 800 seat indoor-outdoor food court and fresh food precinct.

During construction 10,155 cubic metres of concrete was poured, 180 tonnes of stressing steel put in place and 1,350 tonnes of steel re-enforcement has been used to reach the structures maximum height of 17 metres. A total of 5,127 workers were involved in the project, contributing to approximately 753,352 hours of labour.
