Brooklyn And SoHo Come Together In The Workshop For Collingwood Loft Style Living

Oz Property Group have revealed their latest project, The Workshop at 77 Harmsworth Street, Collingwood, as a tribute to the architectural style of Brooklyn’s warehouse and grand mansion typologies.

Featuring five-meter high ceilings, Oz Property Group said it is loft living at is finest, as The Workshop stays true to its proud industrial heritage, but brings the comfort and style of contemporary living into a modern urban context.

The Workshop's 11 stylish lofts were built on a historic warehouse site which was previously a metal fabricator and photography studio.

Designed by Jesse Linardi of DKO Architecture, and Seada Linardi of SLAB Architecture, the Workshop features light drenched living spaces, with exposed concrete ceilings and floors, perforated metal detailing throughout.

Spanning four levels, The Workshop consists of mostly two bedroom apartments that range from 72 square metres to 91.7 square metres.

“Loft style living is an engaged spatial relationship as a loft typology is a 3 dimensional space to live, being an atrium, mezzanine and living space simultaneously," DKO Architecture Design Director Jesse Linardi said,"The interiors have a refined, urban finesse, with polished concrete floors and interiors.

Channeling the contemporary style of an archetypical SoHo loft, The Workshop will offer monochrome fit-outs in black and white, with immaculate attention to detail throughout such as individual had crafted apartment numbers," he said.

A methodical sustainability approach was adopted in the development’s planning in order to secure a minimum 6 star energy rating.

The sustainable practices surrounding The Workshop include hydraulic lifts, rainwater harvesting, renewable energy systems (solar panels), low VOC paints, adhesives and sealants, considered orientation of living spaces for maximum light and ventilation and double glazing to reduce excessive summer heat gain and winter heat loss.

Parking is available within the building via high-grade car stackers. Alternatively, residents can choose from conveniently located public transport, the Abbotsford Train Station, a Johnston Street bus, or a pleasant saunter to the no 86 Smith Street tram.

“The Workshop is a flagship project for Oz Property Group and is the result of the collaboration with some of Collingwood’s most talented locals," Oz Property Group Director Raghav Goel said"Loft style living is a new concept for Collingwood and one that is completely unique to the area."
