Burbank Homes Acquires Sekisui House's Project Home Businesses In NSW, ACT

i

Sekisui House, the world's biggest residential construction company has signed a deal to divest its current project home business in New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory, to one of Australia’s leading family owned and operated home building firms, Burbank Homes.

The deal represents the next phase of Sekisui House’s ongoing multi-billion dollar investment and growth strategy in Australia. For Burbank, it will expand Burbank Homes’ operations into NSW and ACT, adding to their established operations in Victoria, Queensland and South Australia.

Toru Abe, CEO and Managing Director of Sekisui House Australia said, “The purpose for this move is to give our business greater focus on our core areas of business and product innovation in New South Wales and Queensland. These areas include our turn-key pre-engineered SHAWOOD homes and our Development and Communities divisions in both greenfield and apartment development."Sekisui House places customers at the heart of its business. Choosing the right partner that shares this customer-centric belief was crucial, and strict criteria was set to ensure the least impact on existing homebuyers.

“When reviewing potential partners who share our belief in the highest levels of customer care and satisfaction, Burbank stood out due to their reputation for passion, excellence in client service and superior quality construction. The business transfer process has commenced with Burbank, and we expect the seamless transition of operations," added Mr Abe.

Jarrod Sanfilippo, Managing Director of Burbank Homes, is thrilled to be expanding the Burbank brand and building on the strong customer base established by Sekisui House in both New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.

“It’s a really exciting move for Burbank, and one we’ve been looking forward to for some time," said Mr Sanfilippo.

“We expanded into South Australia last year after a similar agreement with Sekisui House, so when the opportunity arose to further penetrate the eastern seaboard by taking over Sekisui House’s project home operations in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, it was one we eagerly seized."“We look forward to servicing the New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory communities," Mr Sanfilippo concluded.
