Cedar Woods Greenlit for Retail Centre in Perth’s North

The render for the new Woolworths Shopping Centre at Eglinton Village in Perth.

Developer Cedar Woods has won approval for a shopping centre in one of its residential estates to the north of Perth’s centre.

The Eglinton Neighbourhood Centre at Lot 9002 Marmion Avenue, Eglinton, has been greenlit by the Metro Outer Development Assessment Panel.

Cedar Woods is developing Eglinton Village, which the approved centre will service. The masterplanned community will ultimately have more than 1200 homes, according to the developer’s website.

Plans for the shopping centre were designed by Hames Sharley Architects. Woolworths is named as the client on the documents.

Other planning application documents list Lonnegal Property Pty Ltd as the owner of the site.

ASIC records show that Lonnegal’s ultimate holding company is Cedar Woods Properties.

Cedar Woods confirmed in June of 2024 that it had sold 2ha of land on Marmion Avenue to Fabcot, the development arm of Woolworths.

The 77.9ha site is vacant and the subject of a subdivision application.

The plans include a 3250sq m supermarket, 250 carparking spaces, a cafe and a liquor store.

It will have a total gross floor area of 5055sq m and a total net lettable area of 3242 square metres. The project is expected to cost $22 million to develop.

Cedar Woods was contacted prior to publication.
