Sydney developer Central Element has taken out a development award at the 2018 UDIA NSW Awards for Excellence.
Central Element’s development Capri, Point Frederick won the Excellence in NSW Regions Development award at 2018 UDIA NSW Awards for Excellence.
Central Element development director Nathan Chivas said the company was thrilled to receive the award.
“At Central Element, we’re committed to quality – and proud of our ability to create developments that enhance communities,” Chivas said.
“We believe our work speaks for itself, however it is great to receive industry recognition through an award like this which recognise innovation, sustainability, industry leadership and excellence in urban development.”
Capri was part of Central Element’s revitalisation of the Point Frederick area and was completed in December 2017. The design incorporates 20 luxury apartments comprising a mix of 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms, with all apartments above level one offering water views.
The building was conceived as three separate “wings” and is situated within winding waterways, surrounded by lush parklands.
Capri was delivered by an award-winning development team, with White + Dickson Architects and Richard Crookes Construction as the builder.
The developer was also shortlisted as a finalist in three other categories: Excellence in Medium-Density Development (below 100 dwellings) for Aura – Pymble (in partnership with HCAP); Excellence in NSW Regions Development for Albany, Point Frederick and Capri was also finalist in the Excellence in Small-Scale Infill Development category.
Adding to the UDIA award win, Central Element’s was also shortlisted with just 5 other developers this week for the final stage of the C40 re-inventing cities competition.
A global competition, C40 calls for architects, planners, environmentalists and developers to drive carbon-neutral and resilient urban regeneration across the world, transforming under-utilised sites into beacons of sustainability and resiliency.
Central Element is shortlisted to redevelop The Falls Carpark in Auckland, NZ in a masterful collaboration with renowned French architect Nicolas Laisné Architectes and Rotunno Justman Architectes
Along with the two French architects, Central Element will partner with XLam, Transsolar and Denning Asia to deliver a mixed-use project with low carbon emissions from a mass timber structure and on-site renewable energy supply.
In addition to awards recognition and the C40 competition, Central Element also has two luxury residential developments under construction: MERA Cammeray and The Malton Beecroft.
The developer is set to release a new project Aruma Pymble later this year.
