Chinese developer Double Gold Stone has lodged an application with the City of Parramatta to develop a 21-storey mixed-use apartment project in the Epping Town Centre, a priority precinct and key growth area for Sydney.
Located on a 2,062sq m site at 48-54 Beecroft Road and 52-54 Rawson Street, the developer has proposed a 72-metre tower, comprising over 100 apartments, with retail and childcare tenancies.
The developer's application flagged a ground level plaza, activated by public art, in its proposal.
Architect Woods Bagot designed the high-rise project.

Identified as a priority precinct and key growth area for Sydney, Epping Town Centre is expected to support an additional 3000-4000 apartments over the next 20 years.
“The North Western Sydney suburb of Epping is strategically situated in relation to Sydney’s premier commercial districts of Parramatta, North Sydney and the Sydney CBD,” the proposal said.
“Epping provides excellent access to major public transport infrastructure, including the new North West Rail link, due for completion in 2019, which will ultimately link Epping to Rouse Hill.”

According to the proposal, the subject site forms an integral link to a key transport interchange within Epping, giving it a strategic position with excellent access to most major employment locations in the Sydney metropolitan region.
Corelogic research analyst Cameron Kushner reported that Epping was second amongst the country's top 10 regions when analysing the increases in value over the past decade.
