Connecting and Supporting Thriving Communities

Developers and councils are incorporating technology to create communities in a future yet to be imagined.

Hyper-connectivity is a major factor in designing these future-proofed projects from working in the home office to live-monitoring intelligent building systems.

Opticomm provides complete fibre infrastructure packages in new communities across the country.

Opticomm product and partnership general manager Andy Tybell said there were many smart applications using these networks.

“We can work with developers and councils to deploy this on our fibre network and make larger bandwidth available for communities,” Tybell said.

“This provides amenities, things such as smart poles and fibre-connected cameras, CCTV and public wi-fi.

“The future applications of this technology to create even smarter cities is an assured possibility. From lawn mowers to sprinklers—the list could be endless.”

As a future-focused company, Opticomm stays at the forefront of technology by enabling developers to also better manage their assets from waterparks to apartment complexes.

“We are looking at IoT and AI enabled sensors. There are thousands of uses for that, and local government may well have a range of uses for this in the near future, to manage barbecues, irrigation, water quality and temperature, and the like,” Tybell said.

“The data from the sensors can help them manage and design better communities.”

To get the most out of smart technologies, a superfast-fibre network that can carry data across large distances with minimal degradation and lightning-fast responsiveness is needed.

Opticomm can connect non-premises locations with fibre that has near infinite capacity, so as bandwidth demand grows, the network will keep pace.

As an independent Statuatory Infrastructure Provider, the company also provides flexibility and guarantees fibre access with over 50 service providers.

For more than 15 years the Australian-based company has designed, built and constructed these networks in places where residents can live, work, play, thrive and connect.

So far Opticomm has connected more than 1500 communities to superfast speeds nationally and is still growing.

This infrastructure is being incorporated into the rapidly growing build-to-rent sector creating fibre networks fully compliant with ACCC and ACMA regulations.

This will give tenants consistent service and means new residents don't have to find their own providers, the space is simply ready to rent.
