Construction of Woolworths-Anchored Pimpama Junction Nears Completion

P

Construction of the new

Pimpama Junction shopping village is nearing completion with limited tenancies remaining ahead of the centre's July 5 opening.

Developed by

Tipalea Partners, Pimpama Junction will include a 2,700sqm Woolworths plus 21 specialty stores - with 16 tenancies already secured by a mix of food outlets and health and beauty services.

Managing director for Tipalea, Scott Spanton, recently visited the site with Richard Laws - development director for Mirvac's Gainsborough Greens community, which neighbours the new shopping centre.

Mr Spanton said he was pleased with the progress made - with the main structure complete and specialty store fit outs now underway, which will be finalised over the coming weeks in the lead up to launch.

"We are on track with our construction program and we are looking forward to opening the centre to the public," he said.

"The remaining tenancies range up to 150sqm, with five to seven year leases. Pimpama Junction is the only new retail development on the eastern side of the highway on the northern Gold Coast so it's a rare chance to get in on the ground floor of a fast growing region."Mr Laws said the increasing interest in the Pimpama region was already evident at Gainsborough Greens.

"I think Pimpama Junction will prove to be a huge draw card for bringing new people to the area - we already have great schools, parks and transport infrastructure, so a local shopping centre was the last piece of the puzzle."Mirvac masterplanned communities Queensland development manager Russell Berlee said Pimpama Junction had already had a positive impact on sales and enquiry at Gainsborough Greens.

"People are excited about the fact that there will soon be a shopping village within walking distance of Gainsborough Greens and that has certainly made people want to act quickly to secure property in our latest stage, " he said.

Pimpama Junction will officially launch on Saturday July 5.
