Brisbane City Council has released the draft Bulimba Barracks Master Plan and is urging residents to provide their feedback, to help guide the final plan which will determine how the 20 hectare prime riverfront site is used in the future.
Neighbourhood Planning and Development Assessment Committee Chairman Council Amanda Cooper said the Bulimba Barracks site was an important part of the local community’s heritage and Council believed it was critical to give the community a voice on how the site was used after it ceased defence operations.
“Following extensive discussions with the local residents, businesses and community groups, Council has developed a draft Master Plan for the Bulimba Barracks, which incorporates the feedback of more than 800 people,” Ms Cooper said.
