PBD Architects Plan To Create Meaningful Living Experiences Through The Balance Of Materiality; Kew Bondi

HERO-IMAGE

Kew Bondi is a boutique set of fifteen luxury apartments developed by Kew Residences and designed by PBD Architects.

Kew Residences is the property arm of Positive Investment Enterprise – a multi-sector investment conglomerate.

The brief for Kew Residences was established around creating stylish, liveable, and quality properties that encourage strong community bonds in any area with an execution excellence in delivering projects.

PBD Architects are a practice of 25 staff members working across all disciplines, with a focus on mixed use and multi-residential projects.

The size and scale of design projects undertaken range from 2 luxury apartments to major urban projects comprising 4,500 dwellings and retail/ commercial components.

PBD always aim to be conscious and selective of the number and type of projects accepted into the practice so as to ensure the high quality standards are maintained; and their general ethos is to have a harmonic balance between quality architecture, efficient planning and interior design which meets the specific needs of the intended target audience.

Through the process of collaboration, PBD has acquired a proven working partnership with Positive Investment Enterprise on their Kew Residences projects.

PBD typically takes projects from inception to completion including thorough involvement at concept/ feasibility level, all authority submissions, interior design, construction documentation and on-site design management services.

This integrated procurement method is undertaken with the majority of their clients, particularly with the Kew Residences team who always wish to ensure the design integrity of a project is carried through to the end product.

The Architecture of Kew Bondi was designed to be a bold presence, balanced through the use of a textural palette and intricate design detailing.

The design team utilised patterned brickwork, sandstone, zinc cladding with timber highlights form a natural composition of materials.

The exterior aesthetics of the project have inspired the Interior Design intent where natural materials, textures and patterns are used with the intention of creating an exciting living experience.

Oak floor boards in living areas, marble benchtops, veneer joinery and 100% wool carpet to bedrooms integrate a continuation of high quality interior finishes.

Interior layouts have undergone a detailed overview to ensure rooms are functional, furnishable and efficiently planned.

Quality brushed metal fixtures, Italian appliances and luxurious bathing spaces, are the finishing appointments that bring the interiors to a high level of detailed, designed luxury.

Additional detailing intrinsic to this design approach include integrated fridges, fluted glass and carefully crafted joinery which add a point of difference to this elegant product.

PBD look forward to their continuing involvement during the procurement phase and seeing the project through to fruition with the highest design standard.

Construction for Kew Bondi is likely to commence in the coming months with completion expected November 2018.
