Double-Storey Penthouse to Crown Cronulla Plans

Cronulla Apartments EDM

Developers have filed plans for a boutique apartment block complete with a double-storey penthouse for beachside Cronulla.

Proposals were submitted to Sutherland Shire Council by 64 Ewos Pty Ltd, a vehicle whose ultimate parent company is Alkira Property Group, to demolish existing structures ahead of redevelopment.

The “tailored and thoughtful” response was designed by Innovate Architects and would deliver a six-storey residential building with two levels of basement parking.

The 64 Ewos Parade development would contain 5 three-bedroom units, including the penthouse.

The building would be “contemporary in form and provides a residential apartment development with a high level of amenity”, sitting close to the esplanade that follows the coast.

Each unit would have a private balcony to take advantage of the views of the coast, and a large private terrace off the main living areas.

The 564 sq m site currently contains an older style two-storey residential flat building while the wider area is zoned high-density residential.

Surrounding it is a mix of residential buildings with one large-scale multi-storey residential building up to 12 storeys nearby.

The site is less than 1km from Cronulla Railway station and near the commercial centre of Cronulla, where the median price for a three-bedroom unit is $1.7 million.

Recently, Sammut Group secured approval for its $100-million beachfront apartment block and Sutherland Shire Council has committed to major renovations for its town centre plaza, due to complete in 2024.
