Melbourne-based developer Pellicano has commenced construction on a 18,000 square metre facility for the new Dulux distribution centre after securing a $20 million tender.
The tender gave the private development company free reign to manage the complete design and construction of the project in Dandenong South.
The new facility, located at Pellicano’s M2 Industry Park, will eventually replace the existing Dulux distribution centre on the South Gippsland highway.
The M2 Industry Park is located close to the ex-Bunnings warehouse recently leased by
Pellicano managing director Renato Pellicano said the facility would be state-of-the-art, with modern technology like a WiFi controlled logistics system and a 500 square metre battery charge area.

When constructed, the facility will reportedly comply with all requirements outlined in current Built Environment Sustainability Scorecard (BESS), and requirements for the storage and distribution of dangerous goods.
“We have strived to create an office space which is both practical and visually appealing, so that warehouse staff and management can enjoy the space for years to come,” Pellicano said.
“Warehouse staff will be able enjoy city-type facilities in the suburbs such as lunch at Arco Restaurant and Café, use of the childcare centre, nature reserve, and scenic walking paths.

“The entire commercial precinct has been masterplanned to support long term needs of over 45 businesses that will employ over 2,000 people in the coming years," he said.
The project boasts a land size of 45,000 square metres, and will span two lots comprising an 18,000 square metre warehouse, 600 square metre office space, and 500 square metre battery charge area.
The hi-tech Dulux facility is slated for completion in July 2018.
