The SA Government is releasing a $2-billion list of projects to tempt developers to the state.
The five development projects would create 3000 homes, and encourage developers to expand their interests or gain a foothold in SA, according to the state.
The first of the projects, with an estimated value of $500 million, is the Tapangka on Franklin development, proposed for the former Adelaide bus station site at 111-129 Franklin Street, opposite the Adelaide Central Market and Chinatown precinct.
Renewal SA is looking for one or more private sector partners to deliver a minimum of 392 apartments on the 6850sq m site, which could incorporate both market housing and build-to-rent.
Tapangka, “on a path” in the Kaurna language, could also house a 200-key hotel, and commercial and retail spaces.
Registration of interest will take place from November 18.
Also on the list is the redevelopment of the former West End Brewery site at Thebarton, a project that holds a value of more than $1 billion.
The total 8.4ha site would include 1000 homes under a masterplan currently being finalised.
Also in the works are the two final parcels of land in a precinct at Bowden in the north-west Adelaide CBD fringe.
The sites have an estimated development value of $110 million.
An expression-of-interest campaign has been launched for two tracts of land on Kloeden Reserve at Whyalla, 385km north of the SA capital, for a $30-million project delivering 70 new homes.
The projects are on top of a $450-million project planned for 274-275 North Terrace—its expressions of interest phase has begun as the state courts developers to create Adelaide’s tallest tower.
“We are inviting developers to not only participate in these opportunities, but to work with us to build a future that contributes to the vibrant and dynamic landscape of South Australia,” Renewal SA chief executive Chris Menz said.
