Singaporean firm Figtree Holdings Limited is proposing to build a 213m-high tower on the site of the former Duke of Kent hotel in Melbourne's CBD.
Figtree Holdings Limited has submitted a planning application, currently before the State Government, to build the tower at 293-303 La Trobe Street via its subsidiary Figtree La Trobe Pty Ltd.
The company purchased the site for $14.08 million in 2014 and then later amalgamated it with an adjoining site it acquired at 301-303 La Trobe Street.
If approved, the DKO Architecture-designed tower would feature 370 apartments over 66 levels. There would be a mix of one, two and three bedroom designs.
The tower would offer podium parking for 61 vehicles and basement allowances for 168 bicycles.
A total of 50.2sqm of ground floor retail would be included, while there would also be levels for amenities and communal facilities.
The existing Duke of Kent Hotel would be demolished under the proposal.
