The best property development projects across NSW and the ACT have been shortlisted in the lead up to the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) NSW/ACT Meriton Awards for Excellence on August 14.
UDIA NSW Chief Executive Stephen Albin said each year the competition for the Awards for Excellence was tough, and this year was no exception with almost 120 finalist projects across 15 categories.
“The judges have been travelling all over NSW and the ACT to assess projects and determine the finalists for the awards,” he said.
“These awards are the most sought after prize in the NSW and ACT urban property sector because of the incredibly high calibre of entries – and this year is no exception.”
Now in their 21st year, the awards showcase the outstanding contribution that developers, architects, engineers, councils, government agencies and planners make to the industry.
“Each finalist demonstrates passion, innovation and professionalism in developing NSW’s and ACT’s best places to live, work and play,” Mr Albin said.
He said finalists undergo a rigorous process of assessment and evaluation and the winners will be selected for their standout commitment to excellence.
“We have an expert panel of seven judges with more than 250 years collective experience in the industry - with backgrounds that range from urban design television presenter to former UrbanGrowth NSW Managing Director and planning head for the WA and ACT Government,” he said.
The UDIA NSW/ACT Meriton Awards for Excellence winners will be announced at a gala dinner at the Star in Sydney on Friday, August 14.
