Flexible Office Space the Future of Work

42c79dd7-dc23-4013-8659-baaba0a755cf

Flexible office space is becoming the “new normal” of the workplace with demand rising even before the pandemic set in.

In the Asia Pacific region demand for flexible office space was up by 26 per cent in the 2018-19 financial year, according to an industry snapshot report.

The flexible office space market itself has also transitioned from a focus on co-working solutions to private offices, making it a viable and cost-efficient alternative to restrictive long-term leases from traditional providers.

Colliers International and CBRE expect this new workstyle to support the office sector as it rebalances with the number of providers increasing by 17 per cent.

Christie Spaces is an Australian-based company supporting this shift in the office sector, with a transition from a static model to a responsive agile alternative.

Chief executive Robert Christie said businesses are figuring out what they need in this new ever-evolving work environment.

“What’s been developing over a number of years, and accelerated this year, is a new type of belief system,” Christie said.

“People have been planning and renting offices as if their business requirements are going to remain static for five years, but in most cases that’s not true.

“They don’t necessarily know what they want in the long term because the world is changing so rapidly.”

Christie Spaces has been supporting local and international businesses as they grow from a single desk into an office cluster providing room for them to grow.

The company offers genuine flexibility combined with authentic support, differentiated from competitors through agility and responsiveness, IT capacity and customisation as well as versatile terms and layouts on offer.

Christie Spaces can help businesses return to work as the pandemic unfolds with workplaces available across multiple locations in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

Commercial office needs can be assessed and customised in as little as one business day and spaces can be customised and made more secure both onsite and online.
