Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts will take on the 210-room hotel in Australia’s future tallest towers as the international brand expands its portfolio globally.
Beulah recently announced the international brand for its Southbank project in Melbourne, which will be built later this year.
The hotel includes a “sky lobby” on the 63rd floor, rooftop restaurant, event spaces and wellness facilities, and will be Four Seasons’ second Australian offering after Sydney.
The “Sth Bnk” by Beulah development will include the world's tallest vertical gardens, apartments, office space, childcare centre and health precinct within the two twisting, terraced towers.
The move comes as Four Seasons pushes ahead on plans to expand its portfolio globally including hotels and resorts along with its move into residential developments.
Four Seasons chief executive John Davidson said they had 50 projects in the pipeline, adding to its existing portfolio of 122 hotels and 48 residential properties globally.
“This year marks an important moment in the evolution of Four Seasons as we sharpen our development focus in key markets, strengthen our leadership position as an iconic luxury brand and capitalise on new opportunities that will continue to drive and diversify our growth,” Davidson said.
“Our residential business in particular is a key pillar in our growth plans, with a five-year pipeline of $9.7 billion (US$7 billion) in gross sales value comprising more than 30 projects worldwide.”
Cascade Investment will support this growth after gaining a majority stake of the company from Kingdom Holding Company this month, with KHC to retain a 23.75 per cent stake and founder Isadore Sharp a 5 per cent stake through Triples Holding Limited.
Four Seasons global business development president Bart Carnahan said they were proud to be expanding into Melbourne as well with Beulah’s leading-edge project.
“At Four Seasons, we look for opportunities where we can be part of innovative new projects, with partners who share our vision for excellence—Four Seasons Hotel Melbourne is no exception,” he said.
Beulah executive director Adelene Teh said the partnership would offer an unmatched hospitality experience while remaining uniquely Melbourne.
“As Sth Bnk by Beulah continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the luxury, lifestyle and sustainability spaces, Four Seasons aligned perfectly to our ethos and vision, offering unparalleled experiences, a bold commitment to innovation, and fantastic sustainability initiatives across its hotels and resorts,” Teh said.
“It will also pay homage to Victoria’s Garden State title, tying in with Sth Bnk and Beulah’s commitment to biophilic design and will be further strengthened via a health and wellness theme. All of these elements will culminate to create an urban resort in the sky.”
