Cbus Property chief executive Adrian Pozzo is the new chair of the Green Building Council of Australia.
Pozzo takes over from Susan Lloyd-Hurwitz “as the organisation resets its strategic focus”.
The council’s chief executive, Davina Rooney, said Pozzo had a depth of experience in the industry, delivering one of Australia’s largest portfolios of sustainable buildings with Cbus Property.
“Adrian has over 35 years of experience and has driven enormous change in the sustainable building movement, demonstrating to the industry what is possible,” Rooney said.
“Cbus Property fast-tracked its net zero carbon commitment from 2030 to early 2022.
“Through his leadership at Cbus Property, Adrian has set ambitious sustainability goals and has shown real commitment to ensuring that we see better buildings every day.”
Pozzo was a director and deputy chair of the council prior to this appointment.
“The GBCA has gone through a period of incredible progress, with significant updates to Green Star, rolling out a new online certification platform and entering the residential market with Green Star Homes,” Pozzo said.
“I’m looking forward to continuing the momentum in these areas, while turning our focus to some of our new strategic priorities including products and circular economy.”
Lloyd-Hurwitz has been on the council board for nine years including three years as chair and will finish her full term on the board in November.
