Harvey Norman Commercial Helps Bring Oakwood Premier Melbourne to Life

harvey norman spons may 2022

Overlooking the Yarra River in Southbank at 202 Normanby Road is Melbourne’s newest 40-storey addition to the city’s skyline, Oakwood Premier Melbourne.

Designed with executives and business travellers in mind, Oakwood Premier Melbourne offers 132 luxurious hotel rooms and an impressive 260 studio—one-bedroom and two-bedroom serviced apartments suited to those seeking a more mid- to long-term luxury accommodation solution.

Focusing on connecting comfort and convenience with state-of-the-art in room technology, Australia’s first Oakwood Premier offering provides guests with an impressive array of facilities such as electric car charging station, business centre and co-working spaces, fitness centre, signature restaurant and roof top sky bar with city views.

Redefining the serviced apartment accommodation category, Oakwood Premier Melbourne is doing so with high-end finishes, sophistication and luxury.

A project four years in the making, a suite of industry heavy weights are credited with bringing this game changing property to life.

Developed by Yarra Hotel Group and operated by Oakwood; built by Hamilton Marino with architecture by CHT and interiors by SORA Interior Architecture + Design, Harvey Norman Commercial Victoria drew on its strength of supply chain and supply partnerships with Phoenix, Caroma, Franke, Fisher & Paykel and Phillips to ensure it delivered on Yarra Hotel Group’s vision to offer world class in-room appliance, sanitary ware and technology.

“In our business, relationships are everything. Particularly at a time when global supply lines are being squeezed, strength of supply chain and being able to work collaboratively with supply partners is crucial to delivering product in full and on time. And that’s exactly what we achieved with this project,” Harvey Norman Commercial Victoria’s general manager of plumbing Steve Zavalas says.

“We’re really proud of our team and supply partners. There are a lot of moving parts to consider with a supply project of this magnitude, especially when coordinating product across multiple categories which Oakwood Premier Melbourne required, including sanitary ware, appliances and tech.”

“This is where our strength lies, first-class product offering and fulfilment.”

Also included are microwave, full-sized fridge, Nespresso café machine and dishwasher for an effortless living experience.

Additionally each apartment is fitted with a Phillips 4K 55” Smart Hospitality IPTV Mediasuite.

It was a recommendation Harvey Norman Commercial Victoria made after extensive investigation working in collaboration with Yarra Hotel Group’s AV consultant, finding the units a clear standout based on energy efficiency and ease of use for guests.

A nice touch of added luxury, guests can look forward to the use of a Phillips Soundbar speaker systems for crisp and clear audio.

The sleek finishes continue into the bathroom with the specification of statement high shine chrome tapware by Phoenix. Guests can relax and recharge under a generous rain shower.

“By providing world-class brands, Harvey Norman Commercial is integral to Yarra Hotel Group’s brand strategy and has become an important business partner to further expand our guest experience. It was such a pleasure to work with the Victorian team. Accommodating and flexible, they provided us with a hassle-free customer service experience,” Khan says.

Committed to creating an ‘experience’ for their guests that aligns with heartfelt hospitality and a feeling of belonging, the launch of Australia’s first Oakwood Premier is shining a global spotlight on the city of Melbourne and defining a luxury offer when it comes to serviced apartment accommodation.

With showrooms at Port Melbourne in Victoria, Taren Point, Somersby and Nowra in New South Wales, Mitchell in the ACT, Mile End in South Australia, Osborne Park in Western Australia, Stapylton, Warana and Townsville in Queensland, Darwin in the Northern Territory and Cambridge in Tasmania, Harvey Norman Commercial is a valuable resource for all project requirements.
