Hilton has announced plans for a new hotel in Western Sydney, confirming the launch of Hilton Parramatta.

The new hotel will replace the former AMP building at 20 Macquarie Street, a corner site opposite Crown Group's V high-rise tower.

Under a management agreement with Ledrae Hotels, a business owned by Sydney-based Michael Kyriacou, Hilton will manage the new-build hotel, located in the heart of one of Sydney’s fastest growing regions.

The new 27-story hotel will feature 240 guest rooms and five suites for guests alongside a fitness centre and outdoor swimming pool

It will also offer a signature restaurant, three state-of-the-art meeting spaces and an executive lounge.

“The introduction of this new property has created an exceptional opportunity for us to bring our renowned brand of hospitality to the greater Sydney area and further expand our portfolio in the destinations that matter most to guests,” Hilton VP of operations Australasia Heidi Kunkel said.

The new D-ARC designed hotel will be a short walk from Church Street, as well as a Westfield shopping centre and the soon-to-open Western Sydney Stadium.

“We are privileged to be partnering with Ledrae Hotels Pty Ltd to launch Hilton Parramatta and further strengthen our current portfolio of acclaimed hotels and resorts,” Hilton Australasia vice president of development Rob Scullin said.

“Today’s announcement bears testament to Hilton’s strength in Australasia and we look forward to welcoming guests to the hotel with Hilton’s signature hospitality.”

Site managers Ledrae bought the building for $4 million in 1994 and have held the site since.

“We are thrilled to be bringing such a well-known hotel brand such as Hilton to Parramatta,” Ledrae Hotels director Lionel Chang said.

“We have owned the building on the corner of Macquarie Street and Marsden Street since 1994 and look forward to this exciting transformation.”

“With Macquarie Street being the oldest and most well-known street in Parramatta, we cannot think of a better address for what will be a fantastic hotel.”

Earlier this year planning rules were amended tripling the permissible height allowed on the site.

The demolition of the current Macquarie Street building will now go ahead and the construction of a 90-metre building that will house the 245-room hotel will commence in early 2020.

This will mark Hilton's 540th hotel worldwide and 24th in Australia with its flagship Sydney hotel located 25km away on George Street.

It is understood that Hilton have a pipeline of nine potential sites within their pipeline.
