Project Focus: Iconic Blends Heritage And Contemporary Design

It is rare when a development offers the perfect balance of a timeless heritage building, industrially inspired design and bespoke apartments all in a single location.

The Thirdi Group's Iconic apartment project at Waterloo in Sydney appears to tick all these boxes.

It’s status as a ‘boutique’ development has been embraced and Iconic’s mix of heritage, industrial and luxury elements has allowed a creation of something truly amazing for Sydney’s property market.

Iconic consists of 76 beautifully designed studios, one, two and three bedroom residential apartments and four commercial spaces, housed within the building’s remarkable CHUBB heritage factory façade.

Refined and deeply rooted in Waterloo’s heritage, Iconic is filled with raw, natural and solid materials. When this is combined with the sleek angles of modern design and construction, Iconic creates contemporary and youthful spaces that will last the ages. The project includes a mix of apartment and product types, including:
Each apartment has been designed to be inviting with open plan living areas offering a highly functional and exquisite space. Its seamless integration of indoor and outdoor living maximises its leafy surrounds and this combined with the vertical gardens cascading down the new façade, will make it one of the greenest developments in Waterloo.

Instrumental in its conception and ongoing delivery, SJB & Coco Republic have created spaces that will appeal to even the most discerning purchaser. Every detail, every fixture and fitting has been discussed, reviewed and approved by the developer's expert design team to deliver a property that will set a new standard of living in Waterloo.

“Iconic has been tailored to the lively area of Waterloo,” said Jonathan Richards, Director, SJB Interiors Sydney.

“The apartments have an exuberance in the architectural details that encourage the user to express themselves. With a lovely balance of open display and built in joinery, the kitchens have been designed as large pieces of furniture.”

Fronting Waterloo Park, the development’s design will also create one of Waterloo’s greenest and environmentally appealing developments with its extensive vertical gardens, large planters and heavily landscaped rooftop gardens with plunge pools and city and district views.
Iconic will also be Australia’s first development to use the revolutionary ARTi platform to allow potential purchasers to see developments in Augmented Reality before buying off the plan.

Buyers can download the ARTi app, point their phone/tablet at ICONIC marketing material (e.g. advertisement, marketing booklet, etc.), and the development will grow from the page into an interactive and responsive 3D Augmented Reality object. From the comfort of their own home, they can explore a virtual ICONIC apartment from every angle, see potential views from balconies and inspect proposed fixtures and fittings.

Thirdi Group has over $600 million in current projects under construction across Australia, delivering a range of boutique and large scale residential developments including land subdivisions, House and Land packages, luxury townhouses and master planned apartment developments.
