Keylin, Kinstone File Fresh Hospital Plans for Coomera

The first stage of a health precinct in the northern Gold Coast has been revealed with the project’s partners filing plans for a private hospital.

Keylin and Kinstone Group has lodged revised plans with Gold Coast City Council for the site at Coomera.

Previous plans were filed with the council in June of last year.

The joint venture partners acquired the Coomera Town Centre South site from Queensland Investment Corporation early in 2021 in a $30-million-plus deal.

The first stage of the masterplanned health precinct now comprises the four-level Foxwell Day Hospital and includes ambulance bays, GP clinic, allied health, day surgery theatres, specialist suites, medical offices, pathology and pharmacy services.

The 47.7ha site is next to Westfield Coomera and Dreamworld, has access to the M1 and is 350m from Coomera Train Station.

The health precinct forms the foundation of Foxwell Coomera’s $1.5-billion masterplan, which also includes the recently completed internal road network and new McDonald’s, Taco Bell and KFC food outlets.

Keylin managing director Louis Cheung said the staged approach to delivering the health precinct would ensure essential services could progress while other major health infrastructure is planned in the region.

“Over the past year, our development team has delivered significant infrastructure to the future health precinct, including new road networks and infrastructure connections,” Cheung said.

“In addition to its specialist and allied health services, the hospital will feature premium end-of-trip facilities, a rooftop restaurant with views of the northern Gold Coast, and a ground level café for patients and visitors.

“We are adopting a staged approach for the delivery of Foxwell Coomera’s Health and Wellness Precinct that takes into account the 404-bed Coomera Public Hospital announced by the Queensland government in last year’s budget.”

Kinstone Group general manager Tommy Hung said the scale of Foxwell Coomera, and its proximity to public transport and the M1, presented an opportunity to “explore how health and wellness can co-exist with future-focused commercial and residential spaces”.

“We look forward to Queensland Health breaking ground on the nearby public hospital,” he said.

Foxwell Coomera is the second joint-venture by Keylin and Kinstone Group after their $650-million Serenity 4212 masterplanned community in Helensvale, also in the Gold Coast’s north.
