Land Parcel Acquisition Paves Way For Masterplanned Community In South West Growth Corridor

A 134-hectare land parcel has been taken off the market in South Western Sydney’s Menangle Park.

It was purchased by Dahua Group Australia (Dahua) from Campbelltown City Council, with plans to accommodate approximately 800 homes.

This land parcel is in fact one of three land purchases Dahua has made in the area, including a land parcel in Edmondson Park purchased from UrbanGrowth NSW in November 2015 and another 364 hectare site, also previously owned by UrbanGrowth NSW, which is adjacent to Menangle Park.

Together these three major land acquisitions are expected to create over 4,380 homes and a new town centre in Menangle Park, positioning Dahua as one of the most significant land developers in the region.

Dahua Group Australia General Manager Eric Li said, all three land parcels will benefit greatly from the State government’s multi-billion investment in infrastructure, jobs and community facilities in the area.

“The three masterplanned developments will help accelerate housing supply in one of Sydney’s rapidly expanding areas," he said.

"A broad range of lot sizes and housing types will be provided to cater for a wide range of purchasers.

“We are looking forward to continuing to build a strong relationship with Campbelltown to deliver these significant projects in the South West region.”

Mayor of Campbelltown Cr Paul Hawker said the sale is another step towards cementing Campbelltown City as the leading Regional City of South West Sydney.

“Menangle Park is in one of the most important current and future growth areas in South West Sydney,” Cr Hawker said.

“With direct road and rail links to the Sydney CBD, Sydney International Airport, the proposed Western Sydney Airport and access to significant existing infrastructure, it is a wonderful opportunity for people considering moving to our great city.

“Council recognises that we need to play a role in securing new investment to help make Campbelltown a more sustainable place, community and economy, and we look forward to working with Dahua to ensure the success of this project.”

The Menangle Park masterplanned developments are approximately 60 kilometres from Sydney’s CBD and seven kilometres from Campbelltown CBD, Macarthur Square Shopping Centre and Macarthur Train Station.

Menangle Park Train Station is approximately 800 metres from the sites.

Dahua’s new masterplanned developments at Menangle Park will collectively comprise over 3,100 homes, a new town centre, school, community facilities and large areas of open spaces.
