The NSW government’s land and property development arm, Landcom, has unveiled plans for a $390 million development for 1,100 homes adjacent to the new Tallawong Metro Station.
The precinct, which will stretch across 7.8 hectares, will include 85,000sq m of residential development and 9000sq m of retail, commercial and public space.
A total of 16 apartment buildings, the tallest of which will reach eight storeys high, has been proposed by Landcom.
The announcement comes as part of the NSW Planning Department's 10-year plan to create 11,000 new dwellings around new stations extending along Sydney Metro Northwest.
The Metro North West will have 13 stations between Rouse Hill and Chatswood with the first trains expected to start running in the first half of 2019.
Earlier this year Landcom made a call for expressions of interest for developers to get involved in the Tallawong Metro Station project.
“The residential development will comprise a diverse housing stock including two storey terraces, maisonettes and apartments,” planning documents said.
A reported five per cent of the dwellings over the two stages will provide affordable housing for low and moderate earners.
Plans also included a centre village park spanning more than 2900sq m.
"The Sydney Metro Northwest Places is a 10-year program that will deliver about 11,000 new dwellings, parks, community facilities and up to 400,000sq m of floor space dedicated to employment opportunities in retail and commercial enterprises, supporting new and future residents living around these public transport hubs," Landcom chief executive John Brogden.

The new Cudgegong Road Metro Station, known as Tallawong Station, will provide 1,000 commuter car parking spaces, four bus bays, kiss and ride spaces and storage for 50 bikes.
Landcom has also called for expressions of interest to build a mixed-use centre with more than 1600 new homes adjacent to the new Sydney metro station Hills Showground metro station.
Meanwhile, Japanese developer Sekisui House has won approval for its $1 billion, 1300-apartment master planned development in Sydney's Hills Shire district.
The site is located 500m from the Sydney Metro Norwest station which is four stops closer to the CBD than Tallawong Station.
Plans for a $3 billion Showground Station Precinct masterplan was also unveiled earlier this year with plans to build 3600 new dwellings on the nine-hectare site.
