Medibank Anchored 720 Bourke Street Reaches Completion

7

Designed by Hassell Architects, the A-Grade office space will house Medibank as anchor tenant and a mix of other commercial tenants across 22 levels and a net lettable area of more than 47,000 square metres.

Constructed by Brookfield Multiplex, 720 Bourke Street is certified for a Six Star Green Star Office Design v3 rating and targeting a 5 star NABERS rating.

It has been constructed using double-glazed glass, perforated metal screens, metal cladding and timber and features a 22-level central atrium that reaches to the top floor providing entry of natural light, stone tiling and timber panelling in the lobbies, vertical gardens, 1,500 square metres of open garden space and two large greenwalls creating a park atmosphere in the CBD.

ESD elements include under floor air distribution, BMS and controlled mechanical and electrical systems, green planting, recycled water use, a trigeneration system, photo voltaic cells on the roof and a 230,000 litre storage tank for rainwater catchment and irrigation.

“720 Bourke Street is an impressive building that stands out on the Docklands skyline. The complexity of the project was managed in collaboration with our client Cbus Property to deliver an outstanding commercial building,” said Mr Graham Cottam, Regional Managing Director of Brookfield Multiplex Victoria.

Construction on 720 Bourke Street commenced in May 2012.
