A Wollongong family with ties to the NSW South Coast fishing industry, is behind plans for an apartment complex on a corner site in its New South Wales hometown.

The 1062sq m site at 55 Corrimal Street and 5 Georges Place is amalgamated frim two lots—607sq m on Corrimal Street and 455sq m on Georges Place.

This is a block from the Continental Pool on the jetty north of Belmore Basin and Cove Beach.

Documents submitted to the City of Wollongong Council show Corrimal St Project as the developer with ADM Architects the applicants for the proposal.

The estimated cost of development according to documents submitted to the council is $16.8 million.

Plans include 11 apartments across a six-storey building with three basement levels.

Two of those apartments would be affordable housing and a further two accessible apartments.

The ground floor would have two two-bedroom apartments while there wpould be two three-bedroom apartments on each from from first to fourth. A four-bedroom apartment is proposed for the fifth floor.

There would be 24 car parking spaces incuding two accessible parking spaces, 12 bicycle storage spaces and one motorcycle parking space under the plans.

Documents from ASIC also show that a company, FRAAD Group, is the sole shareholder in Corrimal St Project. FRAAD Group also lists the same address and Francesco Musumeci as a director and in turn has FM Investments (NSW) Pty Ltd listed as a sole shareholder with the same address.

CoreLogic property records show that A Musumeci Pty Ltd transferred 55 Corrimal Street to Corrimal St Project on August 24, 2021.
