New Proptech Venture Set to Disrupt Real Estate Market

f9870a8d-4a3a-4dce-b42f-acd9d72668b0

There’s no denying that technology is the future for most industries, and in no industry is this more true than in property.

The real estate industry is ripe for disruption, with bricks and mortar businesses set to compete against the next generation of property disruptors and entrepreneurs.

The newest disruptor, Houseandland.com.au, utilises a revolutionary algorithm to create the perfect house and land match for consumers by pairing beautiful home designs by Australia’s leading builders and developers, with the best estates and land across the country.

Its technology was founded by seasoned real estate professionals with over 35 years’ experience, who noticed that the home building journey can often be quite disjointed.

Houseandland aims to connect Australian homeseekers to the right people – making the home building journey as simple, efficient and seamless as possible.

“Australians know what they want in a dream home, and they will do what it takes to get it.”

--Houseandland’s general manager Chelsey Quartermain

Research commissioned by Houseandland shows that home builders now account for 35 per cent of property purchases in Australia. It appears that the stereotypical fear of building is lifting, with more and more Aussies feeling confident and determined to create their ideal home.

Technology is therefore a driving force in simplifying the process for consumers, by allowing them to be in total control of their dream home at a simple touch of a button.

Property search platforms are growing at an immense rate. Online platforms are not only easily accessible and extremely convenient, but they have also become routine in the search process for home builders.

In fact, the online search process has become the most common route to finding the dream home in real time, with 73 per cent of Australian’s using online platforms in their search.

Today’s buyers are looking for everything in one place, with 85 per cent wanting realistic images and 70 per cent wanting to share these images easily.

Houseandland.com.au has made this possible, creating a custom house and land package with a simple three step process.

Display homes are a ‘thing of the past’

Research commissioned by Houseandland shows that 27 per cent of NSW respondents think display homes are a thing of the past, especially with the growth of technology in the housing market.

Buyers simply do not have the time on weekends to drive to display villages or spend countless hours searching for the perfect house design that might not even fit on their dream block of land.

Traditionally there’s a lot of elements that need to be taken into consideration when buying a first home, however our technology does all the hard work for you, allowing the buyer to be in complete control.

A major benefit of the power of an online search platform in the property industry is that it allows buyers to easily refine their searches according to their living preferences.

When it comes to committing to a first home, buyers commonly have a few “deal breakers” that’ll easily distinguish whether or not they are committed to building their dream home.

Location is a very frequent factor in the equation, with 45 per cent of Australian’s wanting to be within proximity of entertainment and dining areas and 45 per cent wanting to be within the proximity of work.

It’s also apparent that creative control is a quintessential factor in the home building journey with 72 per cent of Aussies claiming they would prefer to build as it allows them the ability to personalise their own space and structure.

Fifty-two per cent of respondents claim that creative control is the main reason for building a house as the buyers feel empowered being able to choose their home design while matching it with land in their perfect location.

Houseandland are delivering more than just an advertising portal, but instead are leading the technology revolution by supporting the industry through the development of a software as a service (SAAS).

SAAS allows us to integrate our matching technology into builder, developer and agent websites so their own website visitors are able to access their end goal – a dream home within your own brand space.

The all-inclusive service costs only $490+GST per month for house designs and land estates. Residential agents can list knockdown rebuild and blocks for only $90+GST per listing per month.

*The report was conducted by Lonergan Research on behalf of houseandland.com.au in accordance with ISO20252 standard.

1,097 home owners and first home buyers were surveyed between 28 June and 3 July 2017. Surveys were distributed throughout Australia including both capital city and non-capital city areas. After interviewing, data was weighted to the latest population estimates sourced from the ABS.
