(QLD) Awarded for significant service to the real estate and property development sectors, and to tourism, local government, youth and sporting groups. 

Max Christmas is Chairman and CEO of the Gold Coast-based Max Christmas Group.

His interest in real estate was boosted when he began selling and investing in land, where his involvement spread to showrooms and retail shops while building his reputation as a successful local identity.

Mr Christmas opened his own Gold Coast based real estate firm in 1971 and in that time he is recognised as having pioneered the thrust into Hong Kong in 1981, and then in 1985 was the first Australian property identity to enter Japan. Over the following five years, he introduced over $2.5 billion worth of Australian property investment to Japanese investors.

These property transactions included:

  • Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast Resort Residences and Hotel, Surfers Paradise
  • Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Resort, Port Douglas

Mr Leon Fink - AM (above) 

Member of the Order Of Australia

(NSW) Awarded for significant service to the tourism and hospitality industry, as a supporter of the arts, education, and medical research, and to the community.

Leon Fink is an active property developer, restauranteur and philanthropist, being well known for developing hotels, residential and office blocks in Melbourne and Sydney, the owner of OTTO and Quay restaurants and the chairman of Fink Group.  Early in his career Fink won the rights to develop Sydney's police headquarters in Goulburn Street, and was a key player in the 1965 challenge in overturning Australian censorship laws. Mr Fink also co-founded Addiction Treatment Australasia in the 1990s.

Member of the Order of Australia 

(SA) Awarded for significant service to the Indigenous community through the advancement of housing initiatives, social justice, health and reconciliation. 

He has been awarded the Order of the Australian Medal (OAM) and the Centenary Medal, (CM) for services to the community and is a Justice of the Peace. He is widely respected and recognised for his contributions to Aboriginal housing, Local Government, Aboriginal health, Aboriginal affairs, employment, education and the community.

Robert is from the Bibilmum, Whadjuk, Wardandi, Noongar Language Group and lives in the Perth Metropolitan area, and is Chairperson of the Indigenous Lands Trust. Robert is the Executive Manager of Social Lending Keystart Shared Equity Home Loans for the Department of Housing, and assists Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people into home ownership.

Robert was previously a Senior Policy Advisor to the Minister for Housing and Aboriginal Affairs and became the first Aboriginal person elected to local government as Councillor and Deputy Mayor for the City of Gosnells.

Dr William Thomas Mansell - AM 

Member of the Order of Australia 

(NSW) Awarded for significant service to the building industry through technological innovation in design and construction. 

After leaving school, Dr Mansell worked as a cadet draughtsman in the construction industry, undertaking various educational courses over the next decade before joining Chadwick Technology Group.

The Group's purpose was to provide solutions for unusual construction problems. Now as managing director of Chadwick Technology Group, Dr Mansell has worked on such iconic buildings and structures as Dubai Metro Depots & Car Parks,  Dubai International Airport, Second Bangkok International Air Terminal, Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the Sydney Olympic Aquatic Centre, the Sydney Football Stadium (above) and the Sydney Maritime Museum, as well as the buildings at the Universities of Sydney, New South Wales, Melbourne and the Australian National University.

William’s expertise is such that has he received an honorary Doctorate of Engineering from the University of Sydney. In addition, William has received a number of Innovation Awards from the National Roofing Contractors Association of the USA,  Master Builders Association National Export Award 2010, The Australian Institute of Export, Asian Exporter of the Year in 2000 and the NSW Business Awards, Export of Goods Award in 2003, among numerous other accolades.
Mr John David Thomas -  AM

Member of the Order of Australia 

(SA) Awarded for significant service to the building and construction industry of South Australia, and to professional organisations. 

The Advertiser reported Mr Thomas worked for building and engineering company Baulderstone for 14 years, which is where he attributes much of his success. He has trained more than 2000 staff from construction companies in Australia and India.

also reported that being project manager of the State Bank Building, now Westpac House - the tallest building in Adelaide at the time - was his career highlight.
Graham Bruce Teede - OAM 

Medal of the Order of Australia 

(WA) Awarded for service to the building and construction industry. 

National Vice President of Australian Institute of Building,Graham is an experienced Building Construction Professional with extensive experience as Site Manager , Senior Site Manager , Construction Manager to Managing the establishment of a Regional Office for a leading Builder.

In 2015, he successfully achieved the signing an MoU between the AIB and the University of Pretoria, currently working to strengthen ties with the profession between Australia southern Africa.
Mr Robert Charles Wilson - OAM 

Medal of the Order of Australia 

(NT) Awarded for service to the construction industry in the Northern Territory.

Sean Lawrence O'Toole - OAM

Medal of the Order of Australia 

(NSW) Awarded for service to public administration through city and town planning.
