After receiving planning approval in August, Melbourne-based developer Pace Development Group have unveiled their newest apartment project, Pace of Abbotsford, in Melbourne's inner-north.
Located at 247 Johnston Street, Abbotsford -- home to the historic industrial building St Crispin House -- the development is an 11-storey building with 133 apartments designed by SJB Architects.
Pace purchased the site for $13 million in 2015, lodging plans for a larger development of 180 units.
The Abbotsford development will offer a mix of one, two and three bedroom single level apartments and a series of multi-level townhouses. Apartments range in size from 46 square metres to 132 square metres -- each apartment comes with at least one designated car space.
The development will be anchored by the art deco façade of St Crispin House, constructed in 1923.
Pace's planning manager Michael Holah said the building's design would "pay homage" to its industrial history.
Pace managing director Shane Wilkinson said that the development would make a fitting addition to an emerging area.
“It’s no secret that Abbotsford is a desirable location to live, rich with amenity and culture that’s complemented by creative charm and an emerging hospitality scene," he said.
The developer will begin off-the-plan sales later this month. Construction is scheduled to commence in later this year with a completion date set for mid-2019.
