The 30-storey Perth Hub highrise in the City Link area is on track for completion this year, putting a shaky start well behind it.
The development, comprising 314 apartments and ground floor commercial space, by the Far East Consortium was approved by then WA planning minister Rita Saffioti in August, 2018, despite it being recommended for rejection by the City of Perth.
The site on Wellington Street neighbours a 22-storey Dorsett Hotel, also part of the $1.4-billion Perth City Link precinct,
In May, 2019 the developer delayed the planned June construction start after the housing downturn and decline in overseas buyers impacted pre-sales.
Now, with completion due before the end of year, just a handful of apartments remain, according to Colliers, who are bringing two ground floor commercial tenancies to market.
Colliers chief executive Western Australia Richard Cash and director of investment services James Baker have been appointed to sell the two units.
Baker said it was an “opportunity for a retail investor, owner-operators, and occupiers to make the space their own, and transform the ground floor activation of Perth Hub that has a profound impact in Perth City”.
“The Perth Hub development presents a significant opportunity to transform the northern end of the Perth CBD with new high-density mixed-use developments that encourage increased activation, visitation and population growth,” he said.
Cash said the location of Perth Hub provided a “true connection to a transformative precinct between the CBD and Northbridge, and a destination for patrons who are attending events at RAC Arena, in addition to the estimated population of 10,000 students and staff expected to attend the new ECU City Campus in 2026”.
The tenancies are being offered for sale via a expressions of interest closing on July 31.
