Probuild have been appointed to the landmark Coorparoo Square in Brisbane ahead of the project's launch to the market.
The major mixed-use development is poised to transform the heart of Coorparoo, one of Brisbane's most historically significant blue-chip suburbs. The appointment continues the high-profile move into Brisbane for Probuild which has a strong national presence, particularly in Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia.
Comprising of three apartment buildings, a retail precinct and a 10-theatre cinema complex, Coorparoo Square is being developed by two of the nation's pre-eminent developers, Australand and Honeycombes Property Group.
The muti-faceted redevelopment project will be delivered in two stages with an expected construction cost of $130 million and is expected to be completed by the end of 2018.
Probuild is preparing the 1.2 hectare site on Old Cleveland Road for demolition which is set to take place in coming weeks. The iconic Myer building has stood on the parcel for decades and has been vacant for years.
Probuild Queensland Managing Director Peter Ward said the company was thrilled to have secured such a significant project in Brisbane as it expands its Queensland portfolio.
"Coorparoo Square gives us the opportunity to expand further into Queensland, a region where there is currently so much activity and focus," he said.
Australand Queensland Residential General Manager Cameron Leggatt said the appointment of Probuild provides certainty for both buyers and the local community.
"Probuild is one of the country's leading construction companies and is regarded as an industry-leader.""Coorparoo Square is a hugely significant project for Brisbane, and the appointment of Probuild ensures the very best outcome for both buyers and the local community," Mr Leggatt said.
