Proptech Pioneers Launch Commercial Property Portal

7367225b-95ba-464e-bfa6-d42074ff9091

Ready Media Group is looking to capitalise on a gap in the market for innovation-led marketing insights and an elevated property search experience with the launch of Commercial Ready, an online portal that connects property investors to commercial listings and exclusive property content.

Commercial Ready has been created as an extension of Development Ready, the development portal and emerging media group founded by Ready Media group chief executive officer Nick Materia in 2015.

Conceived out of frustration with the listing websites that existed at the time, Materia said Development Ready provided a dedicated platform allowing property developers to connect instantly with development site listings and agents.

The new Commercial Ready extension will showcase all types of commercial properties, enabling investors to pursue new opportunities throughout Australia with an enhanced search experience.

Now with a subscriber database of more than 42,000 users, 208,000 monthly page views and traffic growth to Development Ready of 191 per cent (YTD), Ready Media has launched Commercial Ready in response to feedback from property investors and clients.

Initially self-funded by its founders, Ready Media has recently attracted a private injection of external capital investment, allowing it to scale and grow into other product offerings and to grow its team of industry experts.

Until now, the independent and Australian-owned business has proudly maintained a positive cashflow position and no debt since its inception.

Among the features of the twin portals are faster access to information for developers and additional data points for agents, giving them more transparency regarding the quality of buyer engagement.

Materia said that launching a purpose-built and elevated commercial property search engine with Commercial Ready was the natural next progression for the business, in response to the pain points that agency clients and users encounter on other listing platforms.

“We started as a niche offering, dealing with permit-approved development sites, and our clients have given us reason to believe there is a clear opportunity for a new entrant to rival the commercial portal duopoly, with a deliberate focus on innovation and user experience.

“Ready Media Group’s dedicated property portals cater to a more specialised prospective buyer, who also comes to us for our expert insights and industry analysis,” Materia said.

Ready Media managing director Rob Langton added that the evolution of the product suite has always been based on feedback from the agents and developers that use these portals.

“Ready Media’s team of experienced and quality staff are extremely responsive, implementing changes as the industry demands.

“We believe there is scope for Ready Media to build on its market share and capitalise on the market’s frustrations with the lack of adaptability of our competitors, at a time when the market has largely been required to operate online,” Langton said.

The group’s leadership team comprises experienced and talented professionals with backgrounds across the property, tech and media industries, with a deep expertise across commercial and development real estate markets.

“We want to build a sustainable, scalable business, with a long-term view to positioning ourselves for a successful initial public offering on the ASX,” Materia said.
