First Stage of $50m Retail Precinct Wins Approval

Mambourin Marketplace HERO.

Stage one of Frasers Property’s planned $50-million retail precinct in Melbourne’s south-west has been given permit approval.

The Mambourin Marketplace will be anchored by a leading supermarket chain and offer 7200sq m of retail space, including a medical zone, pharmacy and room for up to 25 niche retailers including fresh food vendors, cafes, and eateries.

Frasers Property general manager of development in Victoria Sarah Bloom said Mambourin Marketplace would home in on its surroundings and would become a meeting point for the community.

NSW-based ClarkeHopkinsClarke Architects have designed the plans for the centre, which is expected to open in 2024. The site is about 40km south-west of the Melbourne CBD

A childcare centre, cycling facilities, alfresco dining, artwork, bike storage, and shower facilities are also included in the development.

The marketplace is be the first stage of about 2.5ha of retail space planned for the precinct, which will neighbour a planned school, the Good News Lutheran College P-12 Campus, in the City of Wyndham.

The school is expected to open in 2025 on a 6.8 ha site.

Wyndham has been lauded as one of Australia’s fastest growing LGAs, with a population of about 2400 people in Mambourin home, a number that is expected to grow to 4000 by 2027.
