Diversified property group Stockland Developments expects to start work this month on the final stage of its 19ha industrial estate at Willawong in Brisbane’s southern suburbs.
Brisbane City Council late last year approved the $90-million fourth and final stage of the Willawong Distribution Centre.
The resulting two, two-storey buildings will produce five separate warehouse tenancies with a combined gross floor area of about 45,622 square metres.
Separate hardstand areas are included for each building as well as outdoor recreational areas for each of the five warehouse tenancies. Parking has been approved for 467.
The first stage of the Willawong Distribution Centre was completed early in 2019 and stage two at the end of 2020. Practical completion of stage three came in March last year.
All are fully leased.
Stage four is in the north-eastern part of the estate at 221 Gooderham Road, about 19.5km from Brisbane’s centre.
It will adjoin Stockland Pallara, a masterplanned community in the growing outer suburb.
Stockland head of logistics development Craig Lenarduzzi said they expected to complete stage four by the end of this year.
Commercial and industrial builder CIP Constructions—which worked with Stockland on its Yatala Distribution Centre South—has been awarded the contract for the stage four development.
The design is by Nettletontribe.
