Sushi Hub will open its second Melbourne store following agreed terms on a new 10 year lease on Swanston Street in the Melbourne CBD.
Located at 55 Swanston Street, the 120 square metre, street level store, has been leased at circa $6,000 a square metre net.
According to Savills Australia Retail Executive, Michael Di Carlo, who brokered the deal, with colleagues Jock Thomson and Jeremy Marmur, the Swanston Street lease will be the firm’s Victorian flagship store. The popular Sydney sushi bar previously opened a store at QV on Lonsdale Street.
Mr Di Carlo said the location was among the CBD’s best known and most popular fast food precincts.
"This is an ideal location on a strip which has become one of the CBD’s most popular fast food destinations with a plethora of national and international food outlets attracted by one of the CBD’s highest foot traffic counts,’’ Mr Di Carlo said.
He said enquiry for food related retail space was strong and growing as the CBD population, including residents, workers and students continued to rise.
"Enquiry for this type of retail space is as strong as it has been at any time since the GFC,’’ Mr Di Carlo said.
The lessor was a private Melbourne based investor.
