Tycoon Lodges DA For Parramatta Square Towers

S

Walker Corporation has this week lodged the development application (DA) with Parramatta Council for commercial towers 4 & 6 Parramatta Square in its $2bn Parramatta Square development.

The DA comprises two A-Grade commercial buildings with a combined net lettable area (NLA) of 110,000 sqm in addition to 7,000 sqm of retail space, spread across three podium levels.

Lang Walker, Chairman of Walker Corporation, said demand in the area was strong.

Part of the $2bn Parramatta Square precinct[/caption]“Demand for premium office space in Parramatta is undeniable with current vacancy rates at a record low of 1%. This has been reaffirmed by the strong tenant interest received from major corporations whose leases expire in 2019 - 2020.”

Catering to the modern workforce, the towers will feature a range of flexible floor plate options with the largest in excess of 2,300sqm, unmatched in size in Parramatta. This premium office space will be complemented by extensive facilities and services for the buildings’ occupants to utilise and enjoy, including tenant suites, conference facilities, childcare, auditorium, and a commercial catering kitchen.

The retail element will incorporate a range of cafes and high-end hospitality offerings that will spill out onto the public domain and activate the square. Larger than Martin Place, the public domain will act as a focal meeting point for tenants, residents and tourists.

Part of the $2bn Parramatta Square precinct[/caption]“Parramatta Square will become an iconic Sydney destination and as such has to be at the forefront of design and sustainability, while providing a superior service offering. Ideally located for blue chip companies in search of industry leading commercial space, the towers are an integral part of the wider development and will significantly contribute to its success,” added Mr Walker.

Conceived by award winning JPW Architects, who just recently won the Harry Seidler Award for commercial architecture at the 2015 National Architecture Awards, these landmark buildings are designed to feature pioneering workplace design, high security and environmental excellence. The latest innovations in green technology will be inbuilt throughout to ensure maximum energy efficiency.
