WeWork Australia's Expansion Continues with Melbourne Launch

wework

Global co-working company WeWork has expanded in Australia with the official launch of its first Melbourne location in Bourke Street and is actively seeking out new sites.

The $20 billion global co-working giant has 150,000 members around the world and already operate in Sydney.

Occupying six-storeys of Melbourne’s London Stores building at 152 Elizabeth Street, WeWork Bourke Street will be home to 700-plus new members — from early-stage startups to large corporations.

Designed by WeWork, the building features artwork by local artists. The launch marks WeWork’s 4th location in Australia and its 170th location globally. WeWork has locations established in Sydney at Pyrmont, Martin Place and 333 George Street.

WeWork recently acquired a flagship Manhattan retail building to its new global headquarters.

"We know Melbourne is one of the top locations our members in Australia and around the world are looking to us to open next, and WeWork Bourke Street, with its excellent transport connections and views over the city, is a perfect first location for us in the city."The second WeWork location in Melbourne, WeWork Collins Street (401 Collins Street), will open in 2018.
