With Australia currently in the midst of what has been described as the 'green building revolution', the need for developers to harness sustainability is at all time high.

However, Conrad Gargett's Director, John Flynn believes that at the moment, developers aren't embracing sustainability as much as they should be.

"There are not a lot of truly sustainable buildings out there," Mr Flynn said.

"The Green Building Council has their checklists, and we’re trying to get developers to push for sustainability. They’ll do the things that are free or easy, but the stuff where you’ve got to try a little bit harder are somewhat difficult for developers to embrace."But what is sustainability and how can developers embrace sustainable buildings? Find out here:

The Urban Developer’s Adam Di Marco sits down with Conrad Gargett Design Director John Flynn as he talks about “Sustainability”.

John is one of Australia’s leader architects, having worked in across Australia and internationally on a diverse range of project types including residential, commercial, educational, public buildings, health, defence and master planning. John has developed comprehensive skills in leading large projects and working through master planning, brief, design and delivery. Before joining Conrad Gargett, John held senior positions with leading Australian property developer, Mirvac.
